Mahindra has introduced its groundbreaking NU_IQ modular platform as part of its Vision 2027 strategy. This versatile platform supports multiple powertrains—petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric—and underpins four futuristic SUV concepts: Vision S, Vision T, Vision X, and Vision SXT.
Vision S: Rugged and Compact
The Vision S is a sub-4-metre tough SUV reminiscent of the beloved Scorpio, featuring a boxy exterior, pixel-shaped LED fog lamps, and dual-pod LED headlights. Inside, it boasts a modern dual-screen dashboard. The Vision S is expected to launch in early 2027 and will cater to buyers seeking a rugged yet compact SUV.
Vision X: Sporty and Sleek
Expected between mid-2028 and early 2029, the Vision X is a dynamic, sub-4-metre sporty SUV concept. It sports sleek curves, LED DRLs on the lower bumper, and a coupe-style roofline similar to the XUV 3XO. The interior showcases a stylish curved dual-display setup with a black-themed cabin. Mahindra plans to offer both combustion engine and electric variants.
NU_IQ Platform: Flexibility at Its Core
The NU_IQ platform’s modular design allows Mahindra to build SUVs ranging from full-size models to sub-4-metre vehicles. This flexibility positions Mahindra well to expand its SUV lineup within the Scorpio and XUV families with new powertrain options and designs.
Pricing and Launch Dates
While official prices are yet to be announced, the Vision X is estimated to be priced between Rs. 11 to 18 lakh, making it competitive in the growing compact SUV segment. The Vision S is expected earlier, in 2027, marking the start of Mahindra’s new SUV era.
